Lastly, creating your own shoe is only useful for gamers who created their own player and also, you’ll have a hard time editing and creating your own shoe on a small screen.
It’s unnecessary for that option to appear on the Android version because first, you can’t edit your player because in the first place, you can’t create your own player. The option “Features” lets you make your own shoes, your own playlist which you can share through 2kShare (also part of the option “Features”), and lastly, you could edit your created player there.
I can’t even make a comparison between the PC version and Android version because the option “Features” is only available in the PC. But then again, it’s already expected that PC has more game modes because PC has a higher capability of executing “exhausting” tasks. NBA blacktop should at least be an option for the Android version because it’s where you can do street balling. The Android version also lacks PC’s The Association, Practice, Playoffs, and the crowd favorite, Blacktop. Well, it’s kind of expected because who will prefer playing NBA on a mobile device than on a PC whose controls are a lot easier.
The online mode of Android seems to be useless because when you search for available online players, you couldn’t see a single player online, unlike PC which is full of players 24/7.
The Android version’s practice mode, which is pure practice of the basic controls is equivalent to the PC’s training camp because practice mode in PC is a different option wherein you can choose whether you’ll do a scrimmage, freestyle, post moves or free throws. The Android version has only practice, season, and online mode, which is only 3/7 of the PC’s game modes. Game Modes:Īs expected, the PC version has more game modes compared to the Android’s. Even if you select game modes on its menu, you can’t really find a “create your own player” button. Plus, there’s a M圜areer button available for the PC version which is invisible on it’s Android version. It should be catchy to grab more players of the game. There’s no problem of being simple on their UI (I’m referring to Android) but it makes the game a bit uninteresting. There’s a noticeable difference in graphics and the game UI (User Interface) where for me, the PC version had it better. Main Menu: NBA 2k14 (Android) NBA 2k14 (PC)Īs you can see, just in the game menu, you could see the difference of both. Not that I was expecting much on a mobile or I was expecting it to be the same with its PC version, but I know they could have made it more presentable, just maybe, they focused on higher devices. PC’s version was really good because it had LeBron’s speech (real-life LeBron, not a graphical one) and a good graphical gameplay inspired by real-life basketball before the main menu displays unlike the Android’s version which just flashes two images then the main menu displays. With the game’s size, which is about 1 GB, having a bad startup and loading screen is unreasonable. I can’t really see that 2k made a great effort on its Android version. With me, whose incapable of playing it on Play Stations and XBOX (because I never really owned one) could only just give a comparison between its Android version and PC version. Well, for me, I still prefer playing games on the PC than on consoles #PCMasterRace. For example, a PC’s specs will always be better than a mobile’s specs while PC specs versus console specs is still debatable. Moreover, differences still occur in different devices even if it’s just the same game because of its minimum requirements or specifications required.
EA’s NBA live could be ignored or could not be considered as a threat because 2K’s improvements and new game modes made it harder for EA (Electronic Arts) to catch up and reach 2K’s level. And also, even before the release of its newest versions, a lot of pre-orders were already made by several gamers which make it look like it’s just a free game because the number of people availing it is “countless”.Ĭompetitions do not occur between other basketball video game creators, rather, competitions occur between the PC version of NBA 2K14 and its console version or the PC version of it and its Android version.
As a matter of fact, the NBA 2K series is one of the games that can support different kind of platforms, may it be iOS, Android, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft (PC and XBOX). It is as successful as its co-franchise game named Grand Theft Auto which was also produced by Take-Two Interactive.
NBA, a long running franchise game of 2K sports.
